The 800 Hz Inertial Challenge

Characterizing elastomers and highly damped components at frequencies approaching 800 Hz introduces severe inertial measurement errors. At these extreme velocities, the mass of the load cell and the test fixture generates phantom forces that standard uncompensated load cells record as actual specimen loads. Furthermore, attempting to hold a static off-axis pre-load (Fx) while dynamically cycling the vertical axis (Fz) frequently causes catastrophic crosstalk in legacy transducer geometries.

SE-BIAX-HF Architecture: Inertial & Crosstalk Immunity

The SE-BIAX-HF series is built on a massive, highly rigid structural topology designed to push the natural frequency of the load cell well beyond the 800 Hz operational limit, ensuring pristine force and displacement resolution.

  • Hardware-Native Acceleration Compensation: Built directly into the force measurement system. We integrate precision accelerometers directly aligned with the measurement bridges to actively subtract the inertial mass forces of the fixture. The Fz data output represents the true force acting on the specimen, not the acceleration of the machine.

  • Biaxial Isolation: Engineered to maintain a continuous, highly stable static pre-load (Fx) without bleeding into or corrupting the dynamic 800 Hz vertical (Fz) data stream.

  • Moment Monitoring: While strictly controlling Fz and Fx, the sensor continuously outputs highly accurate Mx, My, and Mz channels. This allows engineers to monitor off-center specimen yielding or asymmetric component degradation in real-time.
